JR Foods is a successful alternative protein manufacturer with a state-of-the-art factory and accommodation.
In 2003, we established the TU brand and the JR insect processing factory, pioneering the commercial sale of edible insects. Recognizing the untapped potential in the market for alternative proteins and functional foods derived from insects, we set out to fill this gap.
Our journey began with selling packaged insects on eBay, eventually leading to our online shop's establishment. As people showed interest in trying various edible insects, we adapted to their needs by offering tinned insects, which have a longer shelf life and can be shipped globally. This strategic move fueled our sales growth, enabling us to reinvest our profits in building a food processing factory. We launched a range of packaged insects under our brand and manufactured similar products for international companies under their respective brands, showcasing our versatility and adaptability.
Seven years ago, we received investment to expand the factory, acquire new machinery, and achieve BRC certification. This enabled us to become the first BRC-certified factory to produce and export cricket protein globally. In that same year, we established Nutribug Ltd. UK to manage sales in the UK and EU.
Today, JR Unique Foods stands tall as a testament to our unwavering vision and relentless work ethic. Our factory is a powerhouse capable of processing up to 9 tons of insect powders, 12 tons of whole insects, and 1,350 litres of insect oils per month. We designed the factory to allow for a significant increase in production volume with minimal investment. We take pride in our global supply of quality insect products, and our website is a trusted resource for entomologists worldwide. Our financials speak volumes; with an average gross profit of $600k to $800k annually, we provide annual dividends to our investors. We are debt-free, maintain a healthy cash reserve, provide salaries for our working directors, and own our land, factory, and assets, demonstrating our financial stability.
Our products are available in supermarkets and food stores in the United States and other countries, including Japan, under our brand and customer brands.
JR Unique Foods is just a two-minute drive from the Bangkok-Udon highway, a 15-minute drive from central Udon Thani, and an hour's flight from Bangkok. Additionally, it lies just 40 minutes from the Thailand/Laos international border.
Our factory stands on private land (freehold) in a quiet rural area, which is 1.186 acres, equivalent to 3 rai. The factory floor area is approximately 1,000 square meters, or 10,763 square feet. Towards the west of the factory, you can find the owner's five-bedroom house (200 sq m), which has a private swimming pool and private bungalows. There is also an enclosed farm building and a pond behind the house. There is a concrete wall around the land perimeter and CCTV within the home and factory.
The factory includes significant assets such as a commercial microwave drying conveyor tunnel, an 80-ton walk-in freezer and cold room, a separate walk-in cold room, a commercial drying oven, a high-capacity milling machine, a large oil press, a water cooling system, an air conditioning system, a dewatering machine, a compressed air system, an air drying system, fully equipped offices, a food test and experimentation lab, a moisture testing machine, a company truck, air extractors, and more.
We have a high staff retention rate, with some employees working with us for more than seven years. With a lean team of 8 employees, we can generate substantial revenue.
